Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ipsc-matches.com.
What is ipsc-matches.com?
ipsc-matches.com is a free tool that helps competitive shooters discover and track upcoming IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) matches worldwide. It aggregates match data from the official IPSC calendar into a modern, filterable interface, allows you to set up alerts for new matches based on custom filters, and lets you add events to your personal calendar.
Is this an official IPSC website?
No. ipsc-matches.com is an independent, community-built tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the International Practical Shooting Confederation. For official information, visit ipsc.org.
Where does the match data come from?
Data for Level III matches and above is sourced directly from the official global IPSC calendar at ipsc.org. We also integrate regional match data from local organizations—currently featuring the Norwegian DSSN calendar (dssn.no/matcher) for regional Level I and Level II matches. The data is refreshed automatically every day. We do not create or modify match information — we simply make it easier to browse and filter.
Why are most Level I and II matches missing?
The official global IPSC calendar only tracks international or larger national events (Level III and above). Local club matches (Level I and II) are typically handled exclusively by national or regional organizations. However, we are actively working on integrating more regional calendars to expand coverage for local matches.
What filters are available?
You can filter matches by discipline (Handgun, Rifle, PCC, Shotgun, Mini-Rifle, Action Air), level (Level III, IV, V), continent, country, and city. Filters are cascading — selecting a country will automatically narrow the city list to only cities in that country.
What does the city link do?
Clicking on a city name in the match table opens Google Maps centered on that location, so you can quickly check where the match venue is and plan travel.
How does the Map View work?
You can toggle between a Table and Map view using the selector at the top. The Map view places pins on the approximate location of all matching matches. It clusters nearby matches as you zoom out. Be aware that only matches with known coordinates are displayed on the map.
How do I add a match to my calendar?
Each match row has a calendar icon in the last column. Click it to see options for Google Calendar, Outlook Web, or downloading a standard .ics file that works with any calendar application.
How do I register for a match I found here?
Because there is no single global IPSC registration platform, each organizer manages their own registrations independently. If an official link was provided, clicking the match name will take you right to it. If not, clicking the match name will automatically search Google for you, helping you locate the registration page on various platforms. Note: Match organizers are required to submit L3+ matches to IPSC.org in advance to obtain official sanctioning. If a match is happening in the distant future, it's possible that the actual registration simply hasn't been set up yet.
How do match alerts work?
Click the "New Match Alert" button on the Matches page, enter your email, and your current filter preferences will be saved. Each day, when new matches are posted or existing matches are updated, you'll receive an email digest with only the matches that fit your preferences.
How do I unsubscribe from match alerts?
Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it will immediately remove your email and all saved preferences. No login required.
